RECRUITING
Recruiting should be important in every program. Simply put, athletes having the oppotunity to receive a free education is extremely important and can change lives.
While we do want our athletes to play for the love of the game and their teamates and community, we can both encourage players to understand they are playing for far more than just a scholarship while also doing everything in our power to get our athletes with the ability to play at the next level in a great situation to succeed in their future.
We will do the following to ensure our athletes who desire to play at the next level are prepared to have the opportunity to achive their goals:
Early in their high school careers, we will reach out to all athletes and the parents of the respective athletes who desire to play college football. We will do this to set up a meeting that reiterates information such as required credits, GPA, and eligibility information the student and his or her parents need to know.
Throughout athletes' high school careers, they will be immersed in a strength program that is based on the latest and up-to-date information available. This will ensure our athletes are growing physical and capable of stepping into a college program and competing physically as well as not being shocked by the demands of a college weight program.
Each offseason we will research every camp available to our athletes and create information packets about which camps we recommend the athletes go to based on what we know about how many college coaches or scouts will be at the camp, the reputation of the camp, as well as what we know about the player's ability and needs.
Create relationships! This is the most important step in recruiting. Our staff must put in the work to call, e-mail, and visit college coaches to create relationships that allow us to sell our players. We will often visit college campuses for professional development and learning opportunities which will allow us to create these relationships. Additionally, many of our coaches will already know college coaches. We will continuously sommunicate with these coaches and be honest about our players ability and character so that a trust is built. Therefore, when we recommend they offer our players in the future, our word will carry weight!
Sell our players! We will sell our players and how they can bring value to programs through socila media, conversations with coaches, on campus combines, and more!
